First Steps for Making Money with Classified Sites

One of the best ways to make money with classified sites is
simply to promote products on the site.

Craigslist posts 80 million new classified advertisements per month
and only 2 million of these are new job listings.
It has individual pages for 23 major US cities
as well as 40 other countries around the world.

But, there are a lot of rules and regulations governing the type of postings
and content you can place on classified sites.

For example, usually you can’t post a classified ad
that simply includes a link a particular website or affiliate product you are promoting.
But there are build-arounds you can use to achieve the same goal.

Bending Craigslist’s Rules

Let’s assume that you are an affiliate for some sporting goods.
The company that produces the sporting goods
has an affiliate program and you sign up to be an active affiliate.
If you were to simply post an ad on

Craigslist that has a link to the site where they can purchase the sporting gods you are promoting, that violates Craigslist’s terms of agreement and at some point your ad will be deleted.

But, if you post an ad that says that you have “Sporting Goods for Sale”
along with details about the actual products,
you can then ask people to simply email you for more details.

Next Steps

When you use this strategy, set up an new email address
that is different than the email account you use this campaign.

You can use a free e-mail service like Gmail that has an “auto-reply / away message” that you can setup under the settings option.
This new email address is what you use in your Craigslist posting.

Next, set the autoreply on the email address to say something like:
“Thank you for responding to my Craigslist ad for the sporting goods.

If you are interested in taking a closer look,
then please click [INSERT YOUR 'AFFILIATE LINK' HERE] in order to learn more.”

Lead Generation

Classified sites like Craigslist and Gumtree
also ideal for generating leads you can sell to other online marketers or businesses.

The “For Sale/ Wanted” sections are filled with buyers
looking for products such as laptops, LCD monitors, HDTVs, and so on.
Find an affiliate program for these items.

Then all you need to do is respond to the “Wanted” postings
with your affiliate link for the product you are promoting.

Since you aren’t physically inventorying the items,
you’re not limited to postings in your home city.

So you can browse “Wanted” pages anywhere in the US or even the world

Are you having trouble getting traffic to your blog?

What if I could show you how to -> drive traffic to your blog without using SEO,

Most people believe that the only good traffic is search engine traffic. But with Google changing the algorithms regularly, it’s extremely difficult to rank on the first page of Google.

I don’t focus just on Google, Bing or search engines only for that matter… I get my traffic from other sources and it doesn’t cost me a penny!

Just remember, there are so many more places that people search on than Google… Pinterest, YouTube and Forums are some examples.

You need to spend some time figuring out what specific words and phrases are the people most likely to search for… who will want to come to your business if they knew it existed.

Use Google Keyword Search to search for high competition keywords… not low competition like you do for SEO blogs. You want the words that the majority of people in your target audience are searching for.

Then write your blog post around those words. The post needs to be at least 400 words. Now you need to re-purpose your content. Turn it into a video and post it on YouTube and the many other video sites. Write an article and submit it to a few article sites. Convert it to a PDF and even a Power Point presentation. And then post it everywhere! There are many document sites such as docstoc.com. And don’t forget about Pinterest. People search for specific things on Pinterest as well as YouTube and docstoc. Also, for power point presentations you can use Slide Share or Author Stream. Both sites work well.

Now do this with all of your blog posts. If you blog everyday, like I do, you will have produced a lot of articles, videos, power points and documents. and you will be surprised at the traffic you will get! I have received traffic within hours of using this strategy. You won’t rank on the first page of Google but you will still get lots of traffic. Compiling all of this data will also be of benefit to you as coaching material for your prospective team. There are many times in which I will direct my recruits to my blog posts as a way of delivering written instructions for them to follow on a certain marketing procedure.

Remember, information is good but acting on that information is what will bring you success!

When Google launched its social networking service, Google Plus, during the summer of 2011, tens of millions of people clamored to sign up for an account.

But within months, critics had panned the new service, pointing to user pages bereft of meaningful content and exchanges. They said the new social site just wasn’t, well, social. It seemed as though Facebook had cornered the market — Google was too late to the party.

Perhaps not. According to data released this week by Internet analytics firm GlobalWebIndex, Google Plus is racking up large numbers of new users and continues to outpace Twitter as the world’s number two social network, behind perennial titan Facebook.

The reasons behind Google Plus’s growth — it now can boast 359 million active users, up 33 percent from 269 million users at the end of June 2012, according to GlobalWebIndex — are complex and tied to Google’s effort to build a connecting layer across all its services, including search, YouTube, maps and other products. Log into one, and you’ve logged into the lot.

Google itself is tight-lipped about its numbers. Its last released figures were in December, when the search giant said 500 million people had created Google Plus accounts.

But of this number, only 135 million were actively posting to Google Plus pages. Millions more were using some of the service’s features, such as clicking the “+1” button to show they liked certain web pages.

It remains far behind Facebook, which boasts 701 million active users, according to the report, though Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg last year claimed more than a billion active accounts.

Still, the volume of Google Plus accounts suggests naysayers were too hasty in calling its demise. Like many social networking services, Google Plus has won over a devoted core of users.

One such convert is a New Zealand photographer  whose picture-centric Google Plus page has nearly five million followers.

“It’s nice to pop into Google Plus to discover new things. Facebook is pretty good, but it’s harder to discover new people or have more in-depth discussions around passions,” he said in an email exchange.

Indeed, this may be how Google Plus will find its niche in the crowded social media world: Whereas Facebook is the go-to service for connecting friends, Google Plus is more often used to meet strangers who share common interests.

Google Plus acknowledged as much last year by adding its “Communities” section, which hosts a diverse mass of groups and lets users join a “hangout” — the popular group video service.

“We’re extremely happy with our progress so far, and one of our main goals is to transform the overall Google experience and make all of the services people already love faster, more relevant, and more reliable,” Google said.

But some observers remain skeptical that account holders are doing much on Google Plus, and see it as little more than a tricked-out sign-in service for Google’s products.

Another social media manager at Mediaworks, a marketing agency in the English city of Newcastle, said she is doubtful Google Plus will ever catch up to Facebook, but she warns clients not to ignore it.

“An authoritative Google Plus account is one of the factors that will help you rank high on Google (search results),” she said, noting that a popular Google Plus account was an important criterion in the search algorithm that ranks pages.

But she doesn’t see the service expanding far beyond the business and marketing world — at least for now.

“Whoever I ask, everyone has a Facebook account. I don’t know anyone who has a Google Plus account unless they are in the industry, and that’s because they have to,” she said.

GlobalWebIndex’s latest figures show that while Google Plus is the second-most popular social networking service after Facebook, Twitter is actually growing at a slightly faster clip, increasing from 206 million users at the end of June last year to about 297 million today, a rate of about 44 percent.

The study also found that usage was growing fastest among older people, especially with Twitter, confounding stereotypes that social networking is for the young.

GlobalWebIndex is a London-based firm that tracks Internet users through a series of surveys in 31 countries, with an annual sample size of about 120,000 people. It asks respondents which social platform they have directly contributed to in the last month and said Google itself uses its numbers internally.

The study found that Facebook also continued to grow rapidly, at about the same rate as Google Plus.

But the leading social network is also said to be battling “Facebook fatigue” in some countries, with some users growing bored of the service or else bemoaning its myriad changes to privacy settings and other tweaks, including the growing prevalence of sponsored content.

A study by the Pew Research Center in February found that more than half of US Facebook members had taken breaks from the leading social network. While the top reason was they were just too busy, people also cited fatigue with the service.

A retired choreographer from Portland, Oregon, said she tried to close her account after getting fed up with changes and a news feed becoming increasingly cluttered with sponsored content.

“It’s one of those things where you think ‘OK, I have no control,’ and that may have been the final straw,” she said.

But within 10 days of deactivating her account, she was back on Facebook.

She missed her friends.

It is a secret that they are
trying to keep quiet. I will list below the reasons a blog is needed to
give you an advantage and it does not matter if you have a traditional
business, running a political campaign or a home based business.

A blog is used to interact with people, customers or prospects and it
gives the opportunity to build a relationship which puts you head and
shoulders above the competition.
When you build a relationship with the
people and they have your trust, magical things happen. According to a
recent survey, businesses that blog acquire 60% more customers as those
businesses that do not blog. As you may notice I reveal a lot about who I
really am in my blog.

A majority of businesses have websites and hire SEO guys to come in
and get them a high ranking in the search engines to drive more traffic

I have listed five of many reasons why you should have a blog in your
business. It does not matter what business you are in or what you are
doing as a blog puts you out there.
 People will come to you and look at
you as the expert in whatever field you are in.
People will build trust
with you and become loyal to you and your business.
The best though is
you will get more traffic, more trust, more leads and more sales
ultimately from having a blog.
